I gotta love where I work. I work within walking distance from Food Truck heaven. The food trucks fly in front of the Variety building or LACMA on Wilshire in the late mornings. I don’t go often because I don’t want to buy new clothes…but when I do, I gorge, picking something from every truck—total gluttony. It’s always best to go with someone so you can save more time, because the lines are a real bitch. As my acquaintance was in line for the Kogi truck, I went to the Grilled Cheese Truck. I ordered their famous Cheesy Mac and Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. WOW. OMG, WOW. Talk about a real comfort food. I’ve never thought to put mac n cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich. Genius. The smoking BBQ pork and caramelized onions sealed it. It was so rich, that I could only finish half of it for lunch and I ate the rest a few hours later.
I’ll have to try their Brie Melt next time. I think I’ll wait for next month when it’s Grilled Cheese Month. Don’t miss this food truck!
