OLYMPIC NOODLE

Olympic Noodle is another great Korean restaurant offering delicious noodles (duh) and dumplings. I should really stop buying food on an empty stomach...I get a little crazy...like ordering

(1) Steamed dumplings - 12 pieces

(1) Boiled dumplings (looks just like the steamed dumplings) - 12 pieces
(1) Fried dumplings -10 pieces

(1) Bibimbap (I was expecting a fried egg...rice was too spicy for me...)

The food was enough to feed (7) people in my Bible study, and I only spent $55 (not including tip)!! My favorites were the steamed/boiled dumplings and the Chicken Sujaebi. I like the chewy, doughy noodle. The soups have good meat quality.

Why am I'm not giving Olympic Noodle 5 stars? Myung Dong Kyoja is better than Olympic Noodle. :P There's more flavor in Myung's noodle and Myung's dumplings are juicier. I would say Olympic Noodles are healthier -probably have less or no MSG..I can't tell but O.N. uses less sesame oil in their dumplings. In a nutshell, Olympic Noodles and Dumplings are good and cheap, and I will be back!

MANDARIN NOODLE DELI

Today was my 2nd attempt to try Luscious Dumpling's dumplings and I failed! What is up with LD? Sigh. Double Sigh. Growl.

There was a long line when I arrived at Mandarin Noodle Deli, and to my luck I was seated immediately. Wow! Was it my terrible Mandarin that got me such good service? Oh...wait, not so fast...it took the waiter (I believe she was the owner...I heard a customer said "lao bong" = boss) 15 minutes to take my order. They really need to get more help and have a system (i.e. assigned busser, waiter, host, etc.). I saw 2 employees and the owner in the dining section, which is crazy for the amount of customers there.

Oh swell, I read the reviews as I waited and knew I was going to order the beef scallion pancakes, fried meat dumplings, boiled meat dumplings and the beef stew noodle. I know, I know, my eyes were bigger than my stomach; well at least there's no need to go out for dinner, and I'll save the noodles for my friend tomorrow.

The beef scallion pancakes rolls are a must! DSC05575
I'll admit some beef parts were fatty, and it was my 1st bspr, but they're pretty good--especially with the hoisin sauce. The beef stew noodle was good albeit 35% of the beef was fat...supposedly Kingburg's beef is not fatty.

The fried dumplings were ok, but oh man, the boiled meat dumplings are a must! DSC05576
Sorry no photos, I ate 'em up really fast. I will definitely order their boiled meat dumplings again. Total spent: $26 (not including tip).

Mandarin Noodle Deli was a good last meal before I start my 7-day cleanse!

A & J

We were here a couple weeks back with my family. I think there were 20 peeps in our group, so I was impressed on how fast they seated us on a very busy Saturday night. My aunt went crazy and pretty much ordered everything off the menu....

(Chinese cucumbers, fried dumplings (ok, no wow-factor), seaweed, don't know what the top left item is)(have no clue what they are...)
My aunt also ordered the fried pork noodle; I only had room for a slice of fried pork - gross. One of my cousins raved about their steam dumplings:
What a disappointment....where's the juice? Don't order their scallion pancakes (no where near my grandpa's) but you should order this:
The thousand layer pancake--it's good. Another dish that I enjoyed was their beef noodle dish:
If my aunt drags us here again, I'll know now just to have the beef noodle and the thousand layer pancake. I'm sure I might get a lot of haters for giving them a 3, but what I can I say, I live in Cali where there are plenty of good Chinese restaurants --don't be jealous...
